Family Vacation Begins

Saturday Morning we left Columbia SC and headed for Myrtle Beach SC for another three hours in the car.  Again Sophie was very good and sat back and enjoyed Curious George and a good nap.

We arrived at the Dunes Village Resort about 2:30 pm and checked into our new home for the next four days.   Our suite had three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and had a nice living room and kitchen.  Out of the 12 floors we could have been placed on, we were thrilled to find out we were on the first floor.  This meant a shorter walk to the beach and to the inside water park.

Once we had unloaded the cars and were settled, we decided to take a walk down to the beach.  Sophie spotted the sand and the ocean...and she said "wa wa."  my response was yes honey that's a lot of water.  She was so excited to have the sand between her toes and the breeze in her hair.  We then continued to walk around the resort to see what all there was to do.

That night Mam-maw and Papaw agreed to stay with Sophie so that Uncle Michael, Aunt Lisa, Mommy, and Daddy could have an adult evening out.

We headed out to the House of Blues for a Murder Mystery Dinner, while they stayed back and ate Pizza and watched a little TV.

The Murder Mystery was awesome.  To say the least only two of us would make good detectives...the other two were clueless.  However, the food was great especially the dessert and we had a good time just the four of us catching up on the last six months.

After dinner we went to the grocery store to stock up on stuff for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the next four days.  We also went to a few of the stores along the strip to see if we could find Sophie a kite/bubbles and Mamaw some flip flops.
