Trick or Treat

This year we did trick or treat twice and with two different costumes.

The first round was at Buehlers our local grocery store where each department hands out special goodies.

We got a cookie in the bakery

Here is the produce department were we got an apple....

And someone wanted to eat the apple right away.

The Meat Department had balls...not sure how that coincides...but whatever.

The Dairy Department had string cheese, the Floral Department had a balloon, and lastly where the restaurant is we got a free kids meal.

Here's our little Jessie the cowgirl.

The night of our trick or treat it was about 45 degrees and raining off and on.  So I dug out the good ole Curious George costume from last year that Grandma made thinking it would be warmer and I could layer more clothing underneath.  She didn't seem to mind.

She loved it so much I even got monkey kisses...

Daddy took her up to a few doors....

Then Mommy took her up to a few doors...

We covered about ten hours and then it started raining...so Daddy carried Sophie with the umbrella and I put my hood up and carried the loot.

Birthdays with the Cheneys and Herberts

This year the Herberts and Cheneys came to our house to celebrate Bob and Sophie's birthdays.  We were going to go to Leeds Pumpkin Farm but with the Hurricane blowing in the cold winds and rain we decided to hangout and play inside.

Sophie really has taken to Uncle Eric recently...not sure who's the boss here..

Eric and Austin enjoyed playing some Golden Tee...

We had pizza for dinner and then cake.....

Sophie got a princess cake...

Waiting patiently...

Being a ham....

and after Daddy and Sophie blew out the candles on their own cakes we women figured out how to cut this doll cake.

Sophie got some wonderful gifts...a new baby alive with all the accessories, a book, a doll from Germany and a little kids blackberry.

Before everyone left to go home Grammy and Poppy gave the kids some halloween goodies....

Happy 3rd Birthday

Three years ago today, Sophie, you rocked your Daddy's and my world.  We had no idea what unconditional love felt like until we held you and knew we had just become a Mommy and a Daddy.  You are so kind and tender-hearted with others.  You are a wonderful daughter to me and Daddy. You are sweet and affectionate.  You love to draw. You love princesses.  You love to do puzzles.  I can't wait to see where this world takes you and what you do with it.

This past year you have learned so much, how to use the potty, sleep in a big girl bed, count from 1-10, recognize your colors and shapes and some of the letters. Sing the words to many songs. You've learned how to swing on a regular swing, ride a tricycle, kick your soccer ball to us, put your face and head in the water at the pool, elaborate in full sentences your thoughts, ideas, and opinions. You've learned to glue and we are still working on cutting, painting is one of your favorite things to do. You can drink out of a regular cup with a straw, eat with silverware and hit your mouth without making a huge mess. You've made several friends, went to Bible School, Sunday School, and stayed over night with grandparents by yourself.  Your drawings are starting to look like objects (pumpkins), we've survived our first injury that required immediate medical attention.  You are learning the days of the week and what happens on what days, such as going to Suzanne's, church, library, grandparents, zoo ect. You love to do puzzles, color, play with play dough, love on your babies, cook us meals in your kitchen, sing songs, watch movies, run outside, play in your sandbox, and have play dates with your friends.  Your vocabulary has increased ten fold this year and it is so fun to listen to what you have to say...even is from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep.

I pray that you are always a great friend, that you are always the sweet girl, that you are always honest, that you are always generous and kind, that you are always creative, that you always do the right thing, and you grow into a beautiful little lady, who is independent, smart, well respected by your peers and loving to those around you.
We all love you and are proud of you!  Looking forward to another year of adventures with you.

Disney Treasure Trove on Ice

The weekend between Daddy's birthday and Sophie's birthday we went to Disney on Ice at the Nutter Center and invited Aunt Becky, Uncle Eric, Austin and Aaron to go along.

We had great seats and were about four rows from the ice.

Here's the kids during the intermission...

This show included Alice and Wonderland, Peter Pan

the Lion King

Mickey and Minnie Mouse

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The little Mermaid (which was one of Sophie's favorites)

Rapunzel...

and the Princess and the Frog

I think if this comes to town again we will be sure to go again.  The kids had a great time and so did all of the adults.

Birthday Party/Halloween Party

This year we did a shared birthday party with Sophie's best friend Julie.  Julie and Sophie are almost exactly a year apart in age.  So we had a Disney Toy Story and Mickey and Minnie Mouse party for the girls at our sitter's house before the annual Halloween party...

They had a great time playing with the giant Minnie balloon, eating pizza and cake, and running around outside with the other kids...they also got some really cool gifts from their buddies.

Our Evenings

Our evenings usually consist of eating dinner and playing with Sophie.

After playing we usually give Sophie a bath...put jammies on...and dry hair.

She is usually not a fan of having her hair dry but for some reason when Daddy took these pics she was happy.

So Happy I even got a hug

Then off to bed...this night she wanted to tuck Rapunzel into her bed and say prayers with her.

And George!

A Trip to the Library

Trips to the library are at least once a week.

She loves going and picking out books and movies

She also enjoys playing and learning how to use the computer

She also loves to help return them to the box

Soccer...

This past Saturday we headed down to Fairborn to watch our nephew play soccer.

He did a great job playing both offensive and defensive.

Here's the cheering section..both Sophie and Aaron are justing waiting for the day that they can play.

They were even practicing for awhile behind the chairs kicking the princess ball back and forth between each other.
