Spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa

Saturday my parents watched Sophie for the evening while Bob and I had date night.  We headed out to play cards with all the parents from our babysitters.  While Sophie spent the afternoon and evening with Grandma and Grandpa.  She was good as golden for them and they brought her a little stuffed teddy bear which seemed to be quite the hit. We had a great night out and from the looks of these pictures the three of them had a blast as well.. Grandparents are such a blessing :)

5 Months Old

5 months old today..where does time go.  The past five months have been wonderful and quite the life changing event,we have had our ups and our downs but through it all Sophie has brought a lot of joy to our lives.  She is usually quite the happy baby..keeps us smiling and laughing.  She has learned so much already she is rolling over both directions these days, eating her rice cereal, grabbing and playing with her toys, and at least 95% of the time sleeping through the night.  The most recent development is she has  started the beginning phases of teething.  No teeth yet, I bet she'll have one by six months though.  Here are some of our favorite pictures from the last month.

    

Taking time to Smell the flowers..

This past weekend we spent the weekend at Grammy and Poppy's.  This is Sophie's third time.  We drove up Friday afternoon and Becky, Eric, Austin and Aaron got there Friday evening.  We had pizza for dinner and Sophie spent the rest of the evening playing on the floor with her cousins and her piggy.  Saturday we got up and everyone went to the bike shop to see Austin pick out a new bike without training wheels and a helmet.  When we got back to the house it was warm enough for everyone including Sophie to be outside.  So Poppy and Eric took the training wheels off of Austin's old bike, he put on his helmet and they spent about a half an hour working with him on riding without them.  He did really well and with some practice he'll be riding in no time.  Aaron spent a good amount of time in the sandboxes with Austin..not that Poppy created a bridge to connect the two.  They also did quite a bit of swinging on the swingset..I think Sophie wanted a turn but she's not quite big enough yet.  She definitely was taking in everything the boys did.  We had a good weekend overall!

Where's Me Lucky Charms Mommy?

Sorry my little Irish Sweetie no lucky charms..not yet anyway just rice cereal for now.  We have mastered eating rice cereal this week.  She just loves it so much that she devours it within minutes.  Right now seems that she wants her thumb and the spoon in her mouth at the same time, makes for a messy situation, but I have decided no biggy she can be wiped off and if need be taken out in the yard in hosed down.  Just kidding!

Splish Splash I'm Takin My Bath..

Just recently Sophie has developed quite the love for her bath.  She is happy as a fish...splishing and splashing about her whale of a tub...She also has grown quite found of inviting her fishys Uncle Michael and Aunt Lisa gave her for Christmas to join her for bath.  I honestly have no complaints she just sits back and enjoys her hair and body being washed....and of course I enjoy spiking it..what mommy wouldn't that has a infant with hair.  We sing silly songs to her while washing her face and she looks at herself in the mirror. Bob then removes her from the bath and the second she hits the towel on our bed she decides she wasn't done with bath time...and definitely doesn't hesitate letting us know it.  So we rush to get the diaper, onesie, and jammies on before she looses her voice or we loose our hearing.  

Sunshine and Lollipops

Today was wonderful...the sun was shining and it was in the high 50's so I bundled Sophie up and we went for our first walk of the spring...and she loved every minute of that hour and so did I.  She slept for at least half the time and looked around and talked the other half of the time.  She just loves her hat Grandma B made for her...tomorrow we'll try the jogging strolller.
