Here comes Sophie... Last weekend we took a trip to my Uncle Tony's dairy farm when we were in my hometown visiting Mamaw and Papaw.
Saturday afternoon we headed over to see the cows. Aunt Kim and Uncle Tony took us out to the little shelters where they house the baby cows. Sophie was interested but still pretty shy since it has been quite awhile since we've seen them.
She looked in the little holes where the cows can stick their heads out to greet us. Only a few were daring enough to check us out. Some even came completely out to suck on our fingers and get a quick pet. Sophie was fine with petting them and she even got her legs licked by one...she wasn't over thrilled by that because cows have tongues similar to fine sandpaper so it probably felt a little weird.
She was way more into feeding on the of the baby calves with a bottle. This was way cooler than looking at them...petting them...or getting licked by them. Mommy helped hold the bottle though because they like to pull on the bottle when they suck and Sophie isn't strong enough to hold her ground alone. I will post video of this later...
Then we went into the barn to see the fully grown cows...
Overall it was good trip and she enjoyed the cows and a few of the barn cats as well. Maybe we'll make a farm girl out of her after all.
