Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy and fun memorial day weekend with the Herbert side of the household up at Grammy and Poppy's house.  We all arrived on Saturday and it was nice and warm outside, so the kids played in the sandbox and on the swing set for several hours before nap time.

After nap they were back to the sand and swinging while Poppy fired up the grill and Grammy got the
rest of dinner ready.

The kids all had grilled hot dogs while the adults ate a variety of hamburgers and hot dogs and they tasted so good.  For dessert there were awesome brownies and chocolate chip cookies.  After dinner we all went for a walk so Grammy could clean up the kitchen....then it was bath time and bed time for the kids.

Sunday Austin and Sophie played outside most of the morning, while Aaron took it easy inside on the couch since he was running a temperature.  Later that afternoon Aunt Becky, Austin, Mommy, Daddy, and Sophie ran through the sprinkler playing Red Rover....it was a lot of fun, but the water was still pretty chilly.   Later that evening we drove back home.

Then on Monday Grandma and Grandpa came over for a cookout.

It was pretty hot outside so we decided to put up the tent in the backyard for shade.

We also set up Sophie's pool for the first time and she had a blast splishing and splashing around getting all of us wet.  She also enjoyed swinging and going down the slide in her bathing suit.

What a great weekend spent with all of our family.
