26 Months Old

Where has the time gone...Christmas is over and now the winter has begun.  Back to work, back to the sitter and back to the daily grind.  For some it's rougher than others and some days are crazier than others, daily though I am thankful for all God has blessed us with two wonderful families, friends, each other and our daughter.

As we spent the last month celebrating the holidays with our friends and families I realized how much Sophie has grown and learned in just two short months since her second birthday.

Last month we went through a phase of of thinking there are monsters under our bed or in our closet....along with thinking their are shadows on the wall which she says are scary.  That lasted about a week and once we figured out what was bothering her we removed those things causing the shadows and she's slept fine since.

Along with all the Christmas songs she's learned...She sings most  parts of Happy Birthday, Ring around the Rosie, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Johnny Appleseed, This little light of mine, ABC's, Itsy Bitsy Spider.

She loves her Bible Book that Uncle Michael and Aunt Lisa got her when she was first born and is really enjoying more of her bigger books with the paper pages being read to her each night.

She says "Mommy/Daddy you read", or "me read" when she wants to look at the pictures by herself.

She is very independent and says "me do"  a lot.

She is at the stage where she plays mommy with all of her babies, she pretends with her little people and has them talking amongst each other, she serves us food from her kitchen.

She is showing a little more interest in the potty again and is telling us she went so I'm about to start working on the potty training again.

She loves bubble baths every night.

She loves grilled cheese sandwiches and fish sticks...those are the newest menu additions, and she's starting to drink from a cup with a straw when we can really supervise her.

She loves playing duck duck goose, hide and go seek, and ring around the rosie.  She still doesn't understand all of the rules...but is learning the basics...it's so funny.

She loves to color and do art projects and has recently started building with Duplo Lego blocks, playing kitchen and doctor a lot more, and is dressing her snap dolls.

Some of her newest phrases are...

"I love you Mommy/Daddy"

"Thank You Much" when we give her something

"Bess You" when one of us sneezes.

"Whatcha doing?" every five seconds :)
