Grandma Turns 60

Over a week ago Grandma B turned 60 to celebrate the big occasion Michael and Lisa came home and we as a family took her on a mini vacation to Indianapolis.  We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast for two nights, which was wonderful.

Thursday we had a picnic in the park, we visited the NCAA

We all shot hoops and Sophie enjoyed playing with a basketball her size
and watching Uncle Michael bounce the ball, so daddy bought her, her very own ball and Grandpa got her a bear that is orange and black that we named Indy.

To conclude the first day we ate dinner at the Rathskeller
which is a German Restaurant..lots of food...lots of sausage.  Only Michael and Bob decided to have this for dinner.

Friday we went to the Zoo and Botanical Gardens..lots of neat things to see I think one of the big highlights was the Dolphin Show.  All of us including Sophie really watched them jump to get balls and splash in and out of the water.

Sophie did well riding in her stroller, but couldn't see a whole lot so we each took a turn carrying her.

Uncle Michael  and Sophie with matching hats.. gotta shade those baby cheeks and bald head.

Mommy points out the giraffes for Sophie to see and she claps for them

Aunt Lisa helps Sophie feed the goats.

Sophie enjoys her first carousel ride with mommy and daddy .

Daddy and Sophie admire the baby elephant who was looking for water on that hot day

After spending the entire day in the 90 degree heat we called it a day, but after a nap, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Michael and Aunt Lisa went to dinner at the Weber Grill and then to see the Jersey Boys in Concert.  The three of us played in our room back at the Bed and Breakfast, watched a movie and ate leftovers from the night before.

Saturday we headed back to Ohio, we all had a really great time and look forward to another vacation next May :)
